2017 Breaking Boundaries
Failing Up – Building Successes From Our Secret Frustrations and Failure
October 18, 2017
Happy Hour Begins At 6:00PM
The Event Begins At 7:00PM
Breaking Boundaries is an event envisioned by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Interior Design Association to literally break down the perceived boundaries between life and design, art and the everyday experience. We believe that design is part of everyone’s everyday experience and the value of design needs to be better understood by those who practice it as well as those who experience it.
Last year, we re-branded this event by teaming with Stoop Stories on an event focused on our love of Baltimore. This event incorporated unique stories and musical contributions performed by artists and community activists that have a deep commitment to our city. It was extremely well received and we are so excited to build on our new platform.
This year’s event theme is Failing Up – Building Successes from our Secret Frustrations and Failures. So many times, the ability to design and innovate comes from our ability to risk and fail. As designers, creative voices and humans, those failures that we have kept as our deepest secrets have been the pivotal to our drive and success.
