Please join us for an exclusive tour of our Nation’s literary treasure house, The Library of Congress (“LOC”). LOC’s John Lucien Grillo, Facilities Operations Specialist, will guide us through this historical building constructed in the late 1800’s in the most extravagant style of the Italian Renaissance. The building was designed by Washington architects John L. Smithmeyer and Paul J. Pelz. Lucky members will have a chance to get an insiders’ view of the Jefferson Buildings’ Great Hall, Ceremonial Office and of course, the Stacks! This tour is open to Members Only. A box lunch will be provided.
Arrive at the Jefferson Building by 9:45 AM and the guided tour begins promptly at 10:00AM.
Location: Library of Congress, Jefferson Building, 10 First St. SE, Washington, D.C.
Meet under the 1st St. Stairs outside the Jefferson Building at 9:45AM.
Time: 9:50 AM, Registration, 10:00 AM tour, Noon Lunch, exit 12:45PM
