Virtual CEU Schedule

  • 12pm-1pm: VIRTUAL CEU on Embodied Carbon Reduction Through Digital Data Transparency and the EC3 Tool.

Hosted by Interface (Bronze Level Sponsor)

The building sector is the world’s single largest emitter of Greenhouse Gases (GHGs), accounting for 30-40% of total global GHG emissions. Although operational emissions account for more of a building's carbon footprint over its entire life, between now and 2030, almost 75% of the carbon footprint of that 900 B ft2 will be embodied carbon, NOT operational emissions. Since typical industry associations have traditionally focused on reducing operational carbon emissions, shifting some of our focus to address the more immediate challenge of embodied carbon requires wide-spread awareness and education on the emerging toolbox available to industry professionals. Learn how to select products and materials that reduce embodied carbon emissions and move the industry toward making buildings part of the solution instead of less of the problem.

  • 12pm-1pm: VIRTUAL CEU on People-First Lighting - Why the WELL V2 Standard.

Hosted by Alliance Lighting (Bronze Level Sponsor)

The role of architecture can play in human health and well-beling has never been more evident or more important. Thanks to an evolving evidence base, we understand more about the relationship between the built environment and human health. We know how to create spaces that enhance – rather than hinder – our comfort. We can measure – and then improve – the quality of our air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, community and innovation. We can design buildings that fuel our bodies, keep us connected, inspire our best work and facilitate a good night’s sleep.

WELL v2 has proven itself to be a scalable and worldwide applicable feature set that is responsive, inclusive and adaptable to fit any environment or organization seeking to elevate human health and promote well-being for all. This seminar will explain how, when, where, and why the WELL standard is a must for empowering people first Lighting + Sound + Innovation in design.
