The Premiere Design Awards competition and celebration, hosted each Spring in DC, is a program developed to recognize local design achievement and encourage new ideas in the design of interior spaces. IIDA MAC is dedicated to advancing the knowledge of interior design among professionals and expanding the awareness and appreciation of interior design among the general public. The Premiere Design Awards demonstrates the availability of design excellence in local firms and has been a signature event since the founding of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Project entries are submitted by local design firms and are judged by a curated collection of Professional IIDA members from outside the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Cosmo Couture is a fashion show, hosted every other Fall in DC, that highlights garments made out of materials from the built environment. Design firms and other industry members partner to sketch and then create their garments based on a given theme. As an event guest, you can watch the models walk the runway to show off their beautiful looks. After the show, coveted awards are given to the best designs.
SHOWCASE
RETURNING IN 2025
Showcase is a booth-style trade show event, hosted every other Fall in DC, for our Chapter Sponsors and other industry partners to show off their new products, services and developments within the built environment industry. Designers, architects, and all industry members are welcome to attend this full day and evening event. Throughout the tradeshow, multiple speaking engagements, CEUs, panel discussions, and more will be hosted for professional development. Showcase is also a forum to inspire each other through the diversity, creativity and perspectives within our community.
